Vitesse is not much different than AZ if you look at attendance. FC Twente is way bigger, but thats also because its 'the club' for people in Twente. We have a stadium that a club with a fanbase like PSV or Twente could fill, but we are not a big club in that regard. I think it comes down to identity, because Vitesse doesnt have much. I think Daramy is danish because he feels danish. Being eligible to play for a specific national team is not what decides what nationality you feel like. He was also in fact born in Denmark, but we have some strict rules in Denmark that prevents refugees from becoming danish automatically despite being born in the country.
