He's really good, but, not fast enough for the PL
avatar
Would have been cool to see both him and Bajcetic play for Serbia. Looking forward to watching him in the Euros though
avatar
People discredit Leverkusen while not praising Atalanta. Doesn't seem fair to me.
avatar
That's the inexperience. He'll learn.

Stills a massive season anyways

Leverkusen went from Neverlusen back to Vizekusen again 😭 But jokes aside now, even without the EL trophy it's a very very impressive season. Invincible Bundesliga run and (maybe) the DFB Pokal in 3 days as well. Nobody would have expected Leverkusen to win the double or even compete for it or even the triple before the start of the season. Hats off to Xabi Alonso.

Antonee Robinson vs all other LBs in the Premier League this season; —Chances created from open play (1st) —Successful crosses (1st) —Successful crossing % (1st) —Possession won (1st) —Duels won (1st) —Progressive carries (1st) —Passes into the final third (1st) —Progressive passes (2nd) He would be a perfect Luke Shaw replacement.

Imagine replacing Salah with Olise. We might as well sell Van Dijk and get Chalobah
avatar
Everyone is talking about Europe, but what older fans want and what this team should aim for is to win the FA Cup. Crystal Palace are one of the biggest English teams to not win a major trophy and have been runners-up twice. Glasner has won a European Cup with Frankfurt, so there is a chance of winning it. Gotta keep at least one of eze or olise Keep hold of Glasner and Dougie Freeman Get a bit more depth Start the stadium development

McKenna's staying at Ipswich, surely!

Can't believe the state of the transfer market when we consider 60m for an 18 year old unproven CB as a Bargain

straight unlike his brother.

I'm just here to pay my tribute to the klopp gonna miss him not only as coach but as a great human personality too Good luck next season

Absolutely not i can smell this one season wonder from a mile away.

I assume his father Dom might have an Irish relation an unknown number of generations, but he himself is English. Mother Gitte is Danish and also has a Norwegian branch in her family.

I don't know what Glasner did to this guy but I know it can't be legal

Klopp is such a class person and such an underrated manager. People don't appreciate him. It's actually quite funny since there will probably never be another manager in the recent times that will have such a good relationship with the fans. Always been a big fan of him. I ❤️ Klopp.
avatar
It was an emotional day, I love that even in his last moments Klopp still cares about the club, the fans but also our new manager Arne Slott trying to get the fans on board with him getting him the best possible start.
avatar
That was a lot. 😅 Jurgen is such a special person. Just speaks volumes about him when he encouraged the supporters to believe in Arne Slot.
avatar
Klopp in my heart forever Thanks for all the memories ♥️

It feels so weird, I am not as emotional as I thought I would be. I guess part of me is already at peace with it, and the other does not fully realize that this is truly the last time I see Jurgen on the pitch with us

Welp this is it. We won't ever see Jurgen on the sidelines again. Grateful for everything that this man did for the club, my favorite manager of all time. Thank you Jurgen Klopp. #YNWA

Finishing 2nd over Bayern, beautiful Bundesliga season

Leverkusen story kinda overshadowed Stuttgart, but they had an amazing season too. From 16th to 2nd in just 1 year is insane

Kane finishing 3rd in a 2 team title race again. Oh dear

This small team with no prospects to play high level football got destroyed by one of the best teams of the decade so far and you are here to chat shit on them. Amazing. I do believe De Zerbi's Brighton is overrated, not overrated as "it is actually shit and people gaslight themselves into believing it isn't shit", but overrated in "yes, De Zerbi is doing some very interesting work and can become a very successful manager for decades to come, but you can only do so much in Brighton". Brighton isn't playing career mode irl, where they can afford to keep their best players and all the high potential lads they keep buying are already in the 80s and fighting to the top of the league. Brighton is still Brighton. They are plotting some evil stuff by getting under the radar wonderkids before the big clubs, but again, this will only get you so far. Yes, they finished last season in 6th, but fighting for the Top 4 wasn't the natural next step, finishing 6th was completely unexpected and there is no way your goal is to fight for the Top 4 if you keep selling your best players and the replacements are the same hidden gems you decided to dedicate your club into developing to sell. Keeping the same coach isn't a guarantee that your team will keep evolving, the manager isn't the one who is going to score, create chances nor save shots. The problem with teams that overperform is that people will just assume that now this team is equally as likely to win titles as the teams who established themselves on the top years ago. Girona's goal before the season started wasn't winning La Liga and it will not be next season. Xabi Alonso made the hardest choice by staying in Leverkusen, because it is going to be insanely hard to replicate what he did this season, let alone make it better. Do you know how Leicester performed the season right after they won the PL? 12th with the same amount of points as Brighton currently has, while Brighton still has 4 games to play. TL;DR: De Zerbi isn't a shit overhyped manager, he just can't turn a mid table squad into title contenders by pure tactics shenanigans.

Been wanting to write an essay on Klopp and this beautiful team for the last days, haven't been in the mood to do so, both because of the club and my personal life, but here I am. What a story this has been under Jurgen Klopp. When he arrived I wasn't even in the high school, so during these 9 years he meant a big part of my adolescence and has been a (virtual) ever present figure in my life (and for most of us as well I suppose). We were in trenches, finishing below Southampton in the league and exiting the group stages in UCL a season before. He came in and on the same day we started to believe we could regain our long gone glory, blindly embarking on this journey. Step by step, game by game, things became more clear we were in the right direction, although results (silverware) didn't arrive at that time. Not once, not twice, but many times (thinking about the Carabao final, UEL final, both in his first season, but also the UCL final in 2018) we had been close and thought there was a hill we could just not get over. Probably in any other club he would've been sacked after Kiev, but the board stood by him, awarded him an extension and moved on to achieve greater things. The clip with him singing with the fans about Madrid right after the final epitomizes him as a person, football and sports in general. A game that in the end has a winner and you just know there is another chance the next year and the next one and so on. Hard work eventually paid off, we got our hands on the UCL, the Super Cup, the CWC, the Premier League. Glory was achieved and his promise of delivering a title in 4 years has been kept, a man of his words. Although the next four years haven't been quite as successful as the previous ones (very alternating form, a bad year, a good year), we managed to complete the set and win the remaining trophies that he was missing. That quadruple-chasing season will forever be etched in by memory and my heart. Going all the way to the final day after we've been behind, all those performances, the NFT midfield, Salah-Mane-Diaz, the UCL nights, just to get our hearts shattered with 15 mins to go in the Prem and by an exceptional performance from Courtois. Life isn't always fair when you think we had a goalie that cost us the UCL in 2018 only to be defeated by the opposition counterpart's performance 4 years later. But once again we moved on and although the following season was below the standards, Klopp, just like Ferguson in 2012, refused to leave us in an unfavorable position. Been tough for him, Premier League is a very demanding league for both the players but also the managers. You rarely see someone staying for so long, and this obviously took its toll on his health (both physically and mentally). He deserves a very long break from this to recover. What will be hard to recover from is not being able to see him anymore on the touchline, in pressers, in training, not being able to see him manage the trio of Salah-Firmino-Mane, the hard-working Henderson, Wijnaldum, Milner, the super sub Origi, the overlapping fullbacks Trent and Robertson, the leaders of the defense Fabinho, Konate, Matip, Van Dijk, Alisson or the skillful players like Lallana, Coutinho, Thiago, Sturridge, Diaz, Elliott. Farewell, Jürgen Norbert Klopp. Been a pleasure to see you manage the club I love. I will not cry because it's over (I will), I will smile because it happened (I will). Looking forward to the future and may the next stage under the new manager be just as beautiful. The story is not over, we just move to the next chapter. You'll never walk alone.

Just for anyone actually wondering g what he's at, he's playing for Johnville FC in the Waterford and District League

His surname is an anglicised version of the Irish surname O'Breasail. No connection to Brazil the country.

Yup - also this just creates more unemployment and will give more of the lower leagues our shitty refs The solution is to remove as much of the incompetent elements of VAR as possible through semi-automated offsides and a far more black and white, simplified rulebook on what's what. Change some personnel and also investigate referees for their allegiances/supporting clubs and ensure they never officiate a game of said club or their closest rival. It will never be perfect, but doing this will make it as close as it's going to get.

If Diaz really wants to move to Barcelona and they offer us the right price (at least 75m), he's free to go. Becoming annoying now how they deal with this saga

Long-serving Juergen Klopp and Liverpool assistant Pepijn Lijnders appears set to became head coach at Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg. Austrian and English news reports said on Wednesday an agreement was close, with only details to be sorted.

Before the start of the season, I'd give it an 8/10. Now it feels more like a 6. Overall, I'd give it a solid 7/10. We should not underestimate how many changes were made, how many injuries we suffered from, the fact that Jurgen and the whole management are leaving, and, yeah, a good few games where the referees were just horrible. What makes the mark worse is mainly that I absolutely despise some of the performances. Sorry to be the negative one again, but what we played had nothing to do with football I expect from Liverpool at times. Not that I expect to win the league every year, but I do expect to play one of the most entertaining footballs. In so many moments, we were just incredibly dull, even from our star players or very expensive players. I hope that changes soon.

Thuram isnt any better, hes more raw than ugarte, much much worse defensively and aside from his dribbling doesnt have any outstanding attributes. Imo he wouldnt work very well in a double pivot.
