Injuries, declining players, and poor squad-planning ruined the 2020/2021, and 2022/2023 seasons. Klopp overachieved with his squads every season, including this season. 2018-2020 was peak Liverpool under Klopp, but 2021/2022 was also a successful season.

Giving up was never an option. 21 points to fight for and the only thing that separates us from top is GD. Been here before, it never ended well for us, but what would be the point if we didn't believe? Football is a game where any result is possible and nothing is guaranteed, you go into a game as favorite and can lose. April is a long month, European competitions midweek, postponed games from the past, difficult away trips for each club. The squad have to stick together more than before and fight for everything at stake. Alisson, Trent and Jota returning will be a massive boost. Each game at a time

He just read someone on twitter complaining and thought he had a strong case

True but It's stiill VVD

Gomez should take personal offense to the fact Robbo has scored more goals than him. Robbo genuinely has some of the worst finishing I’ve seen, even for a fullback.
avatar
About fucking time. Thought this game was bound for penalties because we were showing nothing. Thank you, Harvey, for being our only player that wants to shoot the ball.
avatar
Gakpo comes on, and one second later I wish we never put him on. Absolutely dreadful.
avatar
Teams rarely put men on the posts nowadays. The goal came from a smart play from City, and a complete lack of concentration on defense.
avatar
Beside scoring I find nothing exciting about his game, Mbappe is better also
avatar
Time to Danns
avatar
He isn’t even half the player who macca is in fact
avatar
Only thing Jackson has that Benzema doesn’t is a clean conscience
avatar
Who cares they'll fall off anyway
avatar
According to delulu Bayern supporters, he’s better than Ibou. 😭

Neves: "I want to be here (Wolves), but I don’t hide that I want to play Champions League football. Sometimes in football you have to go for your main goals." Also Neves: Joins Al-Hilal. Retires at 26. First quote was less than a month ago. My biggest gripe with these footballers isn't even the greed. It's the dishonesty. They're always trying to pretend it's about something else. If one of them said "yeah I'm doing it solely for the money" I'd actually respect that more. Instead we have to put up with the "this is a great league, an exciting opportunity to inspire Saudi kids" blah blah. Money.

I cannot begin to describe how good players like McManaman, Fowler and Owen were in the mid to late 1990's, especially Fowler. If we had a better goalkeeper than David "Calamity" James and better defenders than Julian Dicks and Neil "Razor" Ruddock in that period we'd have won at least 1 league title during that era.

Brother they can't even afford a Tesco meal deal, compare that to Real Madrid who have a whole fucking bank's backing

Wataru please come back

I feel like she was the right person for me, but the circumstances where not what I wanted (not a very close family and different friends for example) There are a lot of details ofcourse, but I just didn't think that those things will work out good for me/us in the future (since I'm only 20)
avatar
Merry Christmas! Salah was poor for most of the game and made many stupid decisions in crucial moments. However, despite his underwhelming games of late, he still puts up the numbers like no other. I do worry for this team without him. We will have to make do with our current options and hope they click. Elliott should be guaranteed to start on the right, after his recent performances.
avatar
Mickey mouse mount in his place, can't be that much of an improvement
avatar
6 i think we've been a bit lucky so far this season that his big misses haven't cost us but he's not alone Salah has also missed alot of chances. And we've been able to find goals else where.
avatar
Well, Santos being relegated is only the second biggest upset of the season. Brazilian league has been pure madness (as always) and it was probably the greatest season in the league history in terms of drama, balance and stories... Botafogo losing the title after being 13 points ahead and A LOT of unbelievable comebacks was unprecedent, and I highly recommend not only to you, but anyone who loves football, to check it out. But speaking about Santos... they were fighting against relegation in the past 3 seasons, so it was not a big surprise when it happened. Just like the fight for the title, the relegation battle was absolutely stacked, and in the last round we had Santos, Vasco and Bahia in the danger zone. Santos was BY FAR the least likely out of the three to get relegated in this last match, as they were against the easier opponent and ahead of the other teams, which means that only some combinations of results would relegate them. As all the games happens at the same time, the relegation spot changed 8 times during the long 90 minutes, and ended up in Santos earning their first relegation in history.
avatar
They're different tho. Rashford only has strokes of form because he's an incomplete player, great athletically and has some of and eye for goal, but yet still fails in the most basic aspects. Meanwhile Felix knows how to actually play football, he just doesn't have the energy and that IT factor to be one of the very best
avatar
To no longer have chances ?
avatar
Definitely not midfield isn't winning any duels again ffs its so frustrating
avatar
Leno wasted the first 10 minutes so really only missed 14.
avatar
I honestly feel that title should go to rodrygo. For a few weeks you think he is ballondor top 20-30 level and then disappear (maybe due to playing on right or as a cf)
avatar
Not losing at Etihad is a big result, no matter what. It will be massive in perspective, now we are done with this game, time to focus on UEL on Thursday and then we have a relatively easy schedule. See them at Anfield in March
avatar
Probably the worst thing we could do is overthink and use some sort of formations to annihilate City. We are 2 teams on par, we have to be brave and go there and do our game, the one we're used to. Trent on the left? Never going to happen
avatar
Yes but as far as individual skills Darwin is far superior. But for now I can understand putting him above.
avatar
South America is bigger than Europe. It's like saying that Europe is insecure because there is a war in Ukraine
avatar
You haven't
avatar
If Kenny Dalglish and Steve G don't have Salah ain't getting one
avatar
It's kind of funny to see Europeans complaining that Saudi Arabia has been taking their players while they've been doing the same to Latin American and African players. Do you really think that an Argentine, Brazilian or any other country would want to play in the Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1 if our currency was strong? Of course not. Our great players would certainly be playing for River Plate, Boca Juniors, Flamengo, Corinthians, Palmeiras, Vasco... as it was decades ago. Unfortunately football is business. Whoever pays the most takes the players. That simple.
avatar
quite sad story that NFT midfield that brought us to almost winning quadruple has become completely invisible right after that

Fabinho against United at home in 2018-19
avatar
6.2 seasons wonder strikes again 🥵
avatar
fun fact: his market value makes more than a quarter of his whole team's combined market value there
avatar
Would take Trent as MotM seeing as both goals started with his passes
avatar
Salah 1 year extension Salah 2 year extension Salah 3 year extension

Predicted lineup for today's game: A.Becker Alexander-Arnold - Matip - Virgil - Robertson Szoboszlai - Endo - Mac Allister M.Salah - Gakpo - Luis Diaz Bench: Kelleher, Gomez, Thiago, Darwin, Elliott, Diogo J., Tsimikas, Bajcetic, Doak
avatar
When he came through the youth ranks of River I thought he was the most talented player I ever seen. In fact in River Palacios is way more than Enzo, ofc that's due to Enzo playing way less time and Palacios being one of the best players of the 2018 copa Libertadores winning side against Boca
avatar
Blud you're like a full 24 hours behind on the FAKE rumours...

Islam has very strict rules regarding animals, dogs are seen as unclean and are only kept for herding. farming, hunting and protection but are other wise prohibited for any reason they regard as frivolous. Saudi Arabia has banned a long list of dogs including Bulldogs.
avatar
I personally would we have plenty of forwards who can play on the left or through the centre though i wouldn't want a swap deal i rather they pay the money and we use it to buy another forward.

Mac Allister is the kind of business that made us successful in the past. Only 24 y/o, so he will enter his prime in the near future, Prem proven, hard-working. Seems very Wijnaldum-esque if you ask me
