I feel like many strikers don't get a chance anymore at a young age. Clubs keep hanging on long to old players. Big team examples are Real with Benzema, Barca and Atleti with Suarez. Bayern with Lewa. PSG with Cavani. United with Ronaldo. In Holland you saw it too with De Jong and Tadic. Either that, or they play with a striker who is not truly a 9, like Arsenal/City with Jesus, Chelsea with Havertz. Liverpool with Firmino. But then again, maybe they did that because there was already a shortage of young strikers by that time. Then again, it is very risky to start a young striker. A lot depends on that role. You want someone who has the experience to take every chance you collectively get at scoring.

Hola, manito. Es bueno ver que el fútbol ecuatoriano se desarrolla y genera grandes talentos. Los estoy apoyando.

ask yourself why football is so complex nowadays guardiola spearheaded the movement into holistic approaches (in the modern era) by dominating league after league with his approach. now it’s how damn near everyone views football
avatar
Considering both teams you mentioned have adopted systems like this for years, I’m more intrigued as to why more clubs have not. I’d be both surprised and disappointed not just in Arsenal but in all top clubs in England if they haven’t explored the possibility of adopting a similar system with other clubs, foreign or not. Which leads me to believe that maybe some of these clubs would see it as ((I can’t think of the word because i don’t think it’s exactly unethical)). Also, a lot of gems get lost in these revolving loan moves for every few that make it through. I’m all for having a loanee agreement with one or two clubs to give our youngsters a platform to showcase their talent against relatively top opposition week in and out. I’m just against abusing it to mostly profit from talent rather than nurturing it

No more Chelsea rejects please. Luckily Jorginho and Havertz worked out but I’m petrified every time we get a former blue that they’ll all end up like Willian
avatar
would be so laughably shit i'd take a hiatus from watching the club because it would be the club admitting they don't want to seriously compete with city. i don't believe this rumour for a second.

Messi is the Argentinian McGeady
avatar
We need to talk about him. He started his career at Cork City before Palace bought him. Then he went on loans to teams like Swindon Town and RWD Molenbeek. That loan to Molenbeek really helped him gain experience playing abroad. Build like a 6'6" Giant and literally so quick and imo he should have a 5★Weak Foot , He was so underrated back then, rated 49/61 in FIFA, which was really unfair. I was surprised when Lyon came for him, but he adapted so well that he became a starter almost immediately. He's now one of Lyon's most important players, helping turn them from a relegation team to playing European football. Today, against PSG, he was Lyon's best player, no surprise there. I really want him start and do well at the Euros for Ireland! Great future ahead 🇮🇪💪🏼

If its true that he's off to Sheffield United then that's a great signing for them. He's an all round solid right-back, I don't think I can think of a game where I thought he was poor. He can play right-back, wingback and centre-back and plays well in all of them. He isn't the type of fullback that can ping a ball 40 yards just yet but defensively he's an absolute warrior, you just aren't going to get passed him. He's also just a very good ball carrier and has no problem taking a man on, and in the air he's also just a beast. Scored 3 I think this season from corners He's just an 18 year old who I can find very few faults with bar the fact that he can be slightly wasteful with his passing, saying that it's some pickup for Sheffield United when most if Europe had him on their radar, I just hope they don't send him down to play with their u21s
avatar
If the links are true Barca should be all over him, btw. Of course he needs to lower his wage a considerable amount before that could happen but still, would be nice.

Also found another focus / priority than football. He became sick of the business around football and the lifestyle of footballers which he also lived. He started his own charity for clean water when he was still active, they are building fountains in Africa. Meanwhile he's very well repected in Germany outside of football, him and his charity won several humanity awards. He participates in political discussions in TV, lately in migration topics as him and his family were deported from Germany when he was a kid. He talks very critical about the football business nowadays, lives in a small flat with his girlfriend / wife (idk) who's leading the charity with him and doesn't even have a car anymore. In the last documentary I saw and also in Nevens biography, Klopp calls him a saint. Long story short, no clue how big that impact was on his football career, but as he started all that during his active career and later got issues in terms of fitness or injuries, I think that had a high impact.
