Rayo Vallecano is the derby whipping boy, unable to compete against the riches (and favouritism) of Real Madrid; left behind by the surging Atletico Madrid. Rayo remains forgotten and forever a small fish in the large Madrid pond.
My goal is to make Rayo the new kings of Madrid, by slowly climbing up the La Liga table within Rayo's limited means. This means keeping to the strict budget, using low-fee transfers and large quantities of loans. According to Transfermarkt.com, Rayo has only spent >5 million euros on transfer in the last 5 years.
First season goal: Europa League
Second season: Copa Del Rey
Third season: Champions League
Transfers: All though I would have liked to stay under a million euros a window, I did sell a lot of players.
OUT
Baena to Torino £8,500,000
Manucho to Granada £3,700,000
Quini to Mallorca £750,000
Cobeno to Real Zaragova £425,000
IN
Sabin Merino from Athletic (LOAN)
Angelo Henriquez from CSKA (LOAN)
Guedes from Benfica (LOAN)
David Rodriquez from Alcorcon £1,700,000
Pizarro from Pachuca £2,300,000
