AS Monaco. A side who in the last 5 years have gone through relegation, Middle Eastern ownership, superstars and managers such as Claudio Ranieri and Leandro Jardim. The current team is a team of young French talent that are all looking up towards the best of the best. In real life they sit top of Ligue 1, a remarkable feat against the superstars of PSG. In this career mode I aim to create a world beating side through use of the youth system, transfers and development.
Outs -
- Guido Carrillo - A perfectly fine player on the face of it, Carrillo will struggle to play with the amount of quality young strikers in the team and so leaves to free up wages.
- Low rated youth players
Ins -
- Joris Gnagnon - A replacement for Kamil Glik will one day be needed and the man I have called up for the job is Joris Gnagnon of Stade Rennais. Composure and a good mix of ok height and decent pace make him a good candidate for training.
- Maxime Le Marchand - A lack of higher rated center backs means that Le Marchand will be signed from Nice. Fast and technical, Le Marchand looks to be a fine center back or center defensive midfielder, a key need in a long campaign.
- Sebastien Haller - Another potential long term issue is the replacement for Radamel Falcao. Mbappe Lpottin will be a partner and the target man Haller will be a good option. With ok pace for a man of 6"3 and 91 strength, Haller should provide the yin to Lpottin's yang.
- Geoffrey Kondogbia - A well known face returns to provide cover, Kondogbia may have seen his career stall at Inter Milan, he will return to hopefully see a resurgence in the red and white of Monaco.
- The recalling of loanees - To provide cover and a platform for youth to develop, many loanees have returned. The list is:
- Youssef Ait Bennasser
- Marcos Lopes
- Gil Dias
- Corentin Jean
- Allan Saint Maximin
