Why not, B. Fernandes at Arsenal ? I'm serious Fernandes - Odegaard Rice

How sad do you have to be to hop on another team's page to troll as opposed to celebrating your team winning a trophy in real life 😂 Rent free

Jesus is still useful, but if someone offered 30+ million for him, he’s not worth rejecting that.

100% this, was going to post my ideal summer, and it's if we can't get good money for Ramsdale and then a good backup to Raya, we should keep him, because as unfortunate as that may be for him, he's contracted to the club and great for us to have as that option at the very least
avatar
Arteta should have gone to PSG, Barcelona, Bundesliga, it's clear people will not respect what he does unless he finally dismantles this Pep Guardiola reign of terror in the PL.
avatar
I get that but it's still 7 first team squad players, and they will have relationships and dynamics with other current players, and we would also be spending more on individuals than we would be selling individuals for, so if we sold all of those players, I see us at tops bringing in 5, which means we would have very depleted squad depth in case of injuries I get we want to have as elite a squad as possible asap, but it really is a gradual process, and so far Arteta has been implementing it exceptionally well considering he's against Pep
avatar
I just very highly doubt we move that many in one window, would massively destabilise the squad dynamics
avatar
Oh exactly, but the homegrown thing is why I also really like Eze tbf over someone like a Simons, means we can sell people like ESR, Nketiah, Nelson etc and then cover that with him But yeah Fede would be a huge shout tbf, just don't see him leaving Madrid is the issue
avatar
It would be, but I also feel it's this summer or bust if we want Eze, same for anyone wanting Olise too
avatar
Oh yeah I agree, he's not worth the 100, but unfortunately for someone his age and quality in today's market that's often the price, at least he's prem proven for a couple of years now unlike others that have moved for that money
avatar
That's fair, I just worry he'd struggle to adapt so young and the move would be too quick for him
avatar
That's fair, I think he has looked quite robust and fitter since coming back this time tho, and he's definitely good enough I think he warrants the risk almost, and at least his injury record isn't as bad as someone like Pedro Neto lol, who I'd love as well if he didn't spend 90% of the season in the stands
avatar
The "headloss" narrative they gave Xhaka before...the one where they said he cannot stay calm... Bruno G IS that narrative personified. That's why he worries me.
avatar
another ball to feet winger? there’s no point when you have Saka

Any wishes on who should be our out of nowhere surprise signing this window?

https://x.com/deadlinedaylive/status/1793007101872050490?s=46&t=KsYH2GI0W66bq0qeVNN3Xw Baguette would be happy (I have no clue how reliable these people are)
avatar
To think most football fans write him off from England XI because of the narrative of him not turning up in big games… https://s3a.sofifa.net/0edfbee55c3ac3694d07474ea08320ea49c0ce69.jpg
avatar
For me personally if we're going for this profile of player, I really still want Eze, prem proven, absolutely quality, he puts in such a shift too, versatile across midfield and the wings, and it's a homegrown player to account for the ones we're likely to lose
avatar
Brahim Diaz.
avatar
For me, Xavi Simons and Brahim Diaz (mentioned below by 'GottaGasEmAll') are not really the solution for our midfield but more of an additional attacking option. At some point, we need to spend money on a holding/playmaking number 6. I'm not sure if it's this summer - that depends on whether Mikel gives Partey another chance. Jorginho's renewal could make it possible for us to go for a more offensive type, for example, Bruno G., which I personally would prefer. Bruno and Rice could work quite well together, and both can play the number 6 and the LCM (Box-to-Box) role. I'm not even sure who should play where. Xavi Simons and Brahim Diaz are both great footballers, but they only become interesting if Nelson and Smith Rowe leave us. In Nelson's case, I think it's an easy decision, and we should sell him (better for him too). With ESR, I'm more uncertain. I believe it would also be better for him to move to a mid-table team, but I can also imagine him making a comeback after a good summer. It would also really matter if Xavi Simons could play in Saka's position as a backup. And if Odegaard and Xavi both play in midfield, then Rice/Bruno would have to play the holding number 6 role, and Odegaard would be more of an 8. I'm not sure if that would work.
avatar
Could be an 8 also. Like Rice, he's the complete package. I can imagine a fluid and dynamic partnership between Bruno and Rice, with Odegaard finally being back to being that advanced 8 and scoring more goals.
avatar
Downgrading Saka would be mental
avatar
Has to Bruno Guimaraes for me. Whether we can realistically get him or not, he's the dream.
avatar
Sesko, Neves, Balde/Hato Raya + Steele Happy man.
avatar
Getting rid of poch is crazy
avatar
So we play in the community shield again
avatar
Hopefully I'm playing it safe
avatar
Being misused as well imo. ETH is using him as a target man where he should be used as a pressing forward who runs the channels.

Epl predictions for next season pre signings 1. Man city 2 arsenal 3 liverpool 4 chelsea 5 man utd 6 newcastle 7 tottenham 8 crystal palace 9 aston-villa 10 bournemouth 11. West ham 12. Brentford 13. I'm really surprised but also not mad at the England squad tbh

I don't agree at all with Rodri tbh, I'd argue throughout this season we have shown a fantastic mentality, and this is proved by us pushing City to the final day and only being 2 points behind arguably the best squad the league has ever seen As said so many times before most other seasons in the prem we win that title, we are just up against the team that has changed the standards, this Arsenal squad set a record for wins in a season for us and only 1 point behind the Invincibles The reason we lost the league, imo, is that we lacked a player with clinical finishing Now whether or not Havertz and Trossard can maintain their runs is a very important point going into this transfer window and next season in regards to if we prioritise a midfielder or a goalscorer, whether that's at lw or st But if you just look at our losses, and I'm not saying like that Liverpool fan that if we won them we would have won the league, cos obvs yes that is true and altho I would argue we at least deserved more or should have got more out of 4 of them, we didn't, and that's the problem and that's football But take both Villa, the West Ham and Newcastle losses, we created so many chances in all of those games that were begging for someone to put them in, and as much as we tried we just couldn't find the back of the net and get ahead Now bar the second Villa loss, all came in the first half of the season and playing Kai lcm, and then for the second Villa loss it's the game where Mikel for whatever unknown reason dropped him back there So, that's where the question remains for me, had we played Kai CF all season would we have won the league this year, and then if he can maintain this great form into next season, does that allow us to focus on strengthening other areas? Sorry this is such a long reply, but Rodri's comments really annoyed me, especially as I would argue that City didn't really push massively in either game against us too, and as I said in another comment had we won the league that would have been labelled a very impressive and tactically astute performance and even arguably the game where we won the league, going away to the title rivals and favourites and getting a draw which is nigh impossible there as of late
avatar
Rodri is just a paella Palhinha.
avatar
This. Hope we use this as fuel and go another level next season. Make him eat his words.
avatar
There will be a game wers everyone complain and say we need a striker, we do need a striker havertz has been good, but there's been game were the lack of striker costed us
avatar
Gonna be a long post but what are your thoughts on Rodri's comments about our "mentality"? Personally, I don't think he's wrong... to a certain extent. The point against City at the Etihad was a good result at the time imo and I still stand by it, but at the same time was a missed opportunity. A cautious mentality was a good approach to the match, especially playing against a juggernaut like City in opposition territory. However, I felt like we did seem too content on the draw and we should have looked to have at least get a goal and then grind out the clean sheet. Not easy when we lacked a transitional threat at the time though, which I think we should address in the summer. Still though, we only had one loss and one draw out of all the PL games we played in 2024, and was unbeaten against the "big six" all season. We did what what was necessary against City but it was the 2-0 defeat to Villa at home where we lost the title, the only PL loss in 2024 btw. And sometimes, good Premier League teams beat the very good ones. It was an off day for us. Villa were excellent. It happens unfortunately. I think we have definitely developed a great mentality based off what I've seen. Just unfortunate that it wasn't enough to top arguably the greatest PL side anyone has seen.
avatar
Yeah that's fair enough, think he came to us just too early and needed loans when he did and not start
avatar
Genuine question here for the fans, would any of you be happy to keep Sambi next season, or has that ship sailed for you? He's actually performed pretty well this season at Luton, and although I wouldn't expect him to be a starter, if we lose Partey and with Jorginho getting older, we'll likely sign a new backup DM and a starting midfielder, and I personally think he could be decent for depth Just food for thought more than anything
avatar
I am just waiting till Ashburton Army will create some chant about Josh Kroenke. It will be last step of their resurrection.
avatar
Exactly, they always found a way, it's unbelievable how many 90+ goals they got to make sure they didn't lose
avatar
I don't get why so many people got hung up on it as being the decisive game too, yes if we won we would have won the league, but anyone with half a brain knows there were other games we should have been more clinical and that draw at the Etihad (which at the end of the day was a good point) and that's where we lost it this year
avatar
I know it was ages ago but I’ve never understood the people saying we played for a draw against city. We played the same way that Real Madrid, spurs and wolves did when they beat city we just don’t have players that are great on the transition. We did get into some really good positions but didn’t take advantage of them
avatar
Out of interest, why? 😅 Yeah they've massively overachieved on paper this season, but I think it's been a truly amazing football story to follow, one of the best in recent memory even Plus, I'm so happy for Xhaka, I've always been a massive fan and supporter of his even when most fans turned on him, so to see him have this success and get recognition for being a top player, long may that continue

My only and last thread for this season. I just want to break down what I witnessed last night. - Not the best performance itw but we really should have scored more. Rice scuffed his shot and then you had both Havertz and ESR hitting the woodwork. - Another good game by Kai. Not unfazed by Brainthwaite who imo had a MOTM performance. Kept his head down and scored the winning goal. - Martinelli looked very lively down the RW. Worked his socks off. Fair play. - Raya had a great game again despite conceding. He caught a freaking curler from DCL with his both hands lol. - Clearly White doesn't have the legs to sustain his stamina for 90 mins and he had few off games in the run-ins including this. That's where Timber comes in. Really good cameo. Timber x Saka is something I'm curious about. - Partey should not be here next season. Ever since he came back we've been conceding big chances. - Odegaard is so frustrating. He had a couple good opportunities to shoot but he decided either wait or use his left instead. - If only City didn't score early, I bet the celebration for the goals would've been louder. It is what it is I guess.
avatar
Not buying these City are unstoppable, City are cheaters, expecting other clubs to do a favour, etc. We go big or go home, I'd love us to finish this City team at their peak, that way we'll only go up. Raise the standard guys, the team did well and props to all the players but we need to do better next season. COYG.
avatar
Completely separate from the match, but watch this still get trolled by some sad basement trolls, but thought other Arsenal fans might enjoy this, just took my top off to put on a wash, and my 16 month old boy just picked it up and tried to put it on, never done that with any other clothes before, proud Gunners dad moment
avatar
Tough luck lads. With you lot scoring the winner in extra time, if Soucek's goal had stood it could have been a totally different story. It's a long season and it comes down to small margins at the end. Well done on the season and keep pushing, I'm sure your time will come.
avatar
Well played Arsenal, it was a fun title race. You can be proud of your club, good luck for the next season
avatar
Enough of that... You were actually incredible most of the season and a consistent goalscorer was all needed
avatar
If you aren't then you don't support a football club 😭
avatar
I feel you brother
avatar
We could be crowned Premier League champions today. Imagine saying that 3 years ago.
avatar
I hope it happens that club honestly deserves it, Arteta man what a coach.
avatar
Oh yeah 100%, thing is even with all this recent success they're still behind us trophy wise, and pretty much all of them have come over the last 10-15 years, so yeah the trophies are there but it's all far too recent and after the takeover, compared to the actual top three who are up there with decades worth of being at the top
avatar
Not if we don’t get a good offer for him
avatar
100% agree, at the end of the day he still had to get the results, and as the guy you replied to said it's not just about chucking money as look at United and Chelsea, but so so so naive of him to think like that
avatar
i don't 'hate' them, football is never that deep and they know their place lol. theres more arsenal fans here in tottenham than there are spurs fans you'll see more arsenal shirts in the streets.
avatar
Bruno Fernandes would be perfectly suited for our 8 role. Midfield of Bruno, Rice and Odegaard would be delicious
avatar
Almost feels like he knows they're gonna be hit hard for the charges, and is in some sort of denial that if they do then all his achievements with City are now going to be looked down upon and not taken seriously anymore
