I went to his first game in a preseason friendly last year and you could tell from literally his first touch that he wasn't anywhere near good enough. Things have obviously gone horribly wrong for him since we signed him, but it's nothing Everton has actually done that's to blame, he's simply just really, really, really bad.
Silva tried so hard in pre-season to get something out of him (only player to play in every game, allowed to try a few different positions and given a free role at times), but baring in mind he played the full 90 minutes in the 22-0 win over some like fourth division Austrian side and was basically the only player who couldn't manage a goal, it shows he isn't great
