The pleasure of watching was an excellent match, Belgian friends. You've tried so hard, but sometimes you can be on your unlucky day.

good choice bro
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
Now that Muja and Vermeeren aren't here anymore, we only have player who is wearing an antwerp kit in his pic (which is from years ago as well)
so awful
Player - Arbnor Muja
I don't know why EA has such a problem with us, we have only 3 2D pics with an Antwerp kit, one of them is that horrible pic of Vermeeren and the other is De Laet who is from like fifa 20 or smth
so disrespectful for a team that won every trophy there is in Belgium and who also beat Barca in UCL
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
What a shit game yesterday, can't remember a homegame that bad recently
Player - Eran Tuypens
Antwerp's academy bringing a lot of talents too Belgian League now
League - Belgian Jupiler Pro League (1)
I literally came here to comment that, it's so underrated. so much quality
League - Belgian Jupiler Pro League (1)
In my opinion, this league is the home of the most underrated/ slept-on talents
Team - Union Saint-Gilloise
They have the same owner as Brighton, and share their scouting database. The club is very well run with a clear philosophy, and they have been doing extremely well for 4 to 5 consecutive years now (inlcuding 2nd division). Historically USG are actually the third most successful club in the country, but all of their 11 titles were won in the early 20th century (1904-1935). They remained a cult club in the lower divisions ever since and have now been revived by foreign ownership combined with good management.

Downgrade for being injured?

Pacho 9 miljoen en Vermeeren rond de 20, dit mag zich niet herhalen.
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
Avila was sold for more than his worth, but he's a very special player, sadly hasn't worked out for Ajax (yet).
Pacho is so good, he was worth way more than that, left-footed CB as well, but our first big sale at the time.
Vermeeren just makes me sad, 18 million is really low in my eyes. Is like half the price.
Player - Arthur Vermeeren
Antwerp and Atletico have an agreement for €27M (according to HLN Sport, a belgian newspaper).
Imo he is worth at least €35M, but i guess that Antwerp is not used to these kinda transfers
Player - Arthur Vermeeren
Fuck, should've been for more, but this is beautiful for the club, yet wish he'd stay. He has to decide if he wants to join them, he travels to Madrid on Thursday after his potential last game for us tomorrow.
Player - Arthur Vermeeren
Big blow for Antwerp, he's a top player. Never thought he'd leave for less than 30 million.
Player - Arthur Vermeeren
Really hoped we could keep him until the summer...
Player - Arthur Vermeeren
Atletico Madrid is a beautiful club, Vermeeren runs a lot, hard working and great on the ball. He'll fit in well, probably is gonna learn a lot from the experienced players and be a starter from next season on, even tho I wouldn't be surprised if he starts for them straight away. Chances of a selection to go to the EURO's is bigger as well. I wish our golden boy the best if he decides to join them, gonna be difficult for us to replace him.
Player - Arthur Vermeeren
Yanited would offer €100M for him 💀
Player - Arthur Vermeeren
Sad but true, that's just the price you pay if you don't have that reputation
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
Keita has interest from West Ham, Vermeeren from Atletico Madrid, Ekkelenkamp from Torino, Yusuf is injured, you might not have a midfield after this window.
Anyway, this team seems to have many players that could leave this summer, what's the possibility many players leave and some sort of rebuild has to happen.
And would Van Bommel stay for this?
Is it exciting in the sense of a rebuild under people like Overmars, Kindermans, etc.?
Or is it also worrying for the short term?
Player - Cyril Ngonge
Not trying to justify the 'Belgian' acts in the Congo, but Leopold II was acting as a private person in the Congo because no other colonial power wanted a country to get to the riches of the country. Afterwards, the Belgian governement forced Leopold to give over the Congo and the harshest circumstances stopped (not all of them). Still, the majority of Belgians had and still have nothing to do with what happened there so don't think it's fair to blame "us" imo
Player - Cyril Ngonge
I mean no one can put the blame on modern day citizens on things their government did centuries ago
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
Vines gone confirmed
I hope we get a real backup LB now
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
4-1 win, Muja at RB, starts for van den Bosch and Ilenikhena, minutes for Smits, Udoh and Corbanie.
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
Kindermans joining early
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
Potentially we'll have Coulibaly, Bataille, De Laet and Engels out for tomorrow, Vines is in the USA to join Colorado Rapids. Meaning we have 4 available defenders, Corbanie, van den Bosch, Alderweireld and Wijndal. In midfield we have 3 available options, Vermeeren, Keita and Ekkelenkamp, as Yusuf is in AFCON (and got injured). There's rumors Muja isn't fit neither, the game would be too soon for Valencia and Ondrejka can't start yet, meaning Kerk and Ejuke are our only available wingers to start potentially.
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
Even tho. Puertas and Amoura are the best players currently in Belgium and Morris is currently better than Butez. Antwerp didn't bottle the league, won every trophy in Belgium, Vermeeren changed the team entirely when he came in and Alderweireld scored the goal to win the league, it doesn't get much more important than that. For me, Alderweireld needs to be number 1, Vermeeren number 2 or the other way around, Vermeeren is miles ahead of Bilal El Khannouss, despite him also being a big talent. Alderweireld scored the goal to win the league, a great goal as well, should absolutely win goal of the year. Butez was important to win the league, cup and super cup, he has to win goalkeeper of the year and Van Bommel is the only manager that should get any votes to win manager of the year. Simple, Antwerp deserve all the awards. I just know it won't be that way. I expect Belgium to fuck this up somehow.

When was the last time a team dominated the Gouden Schoen like this
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
Mislintat is available just saying
Player - Grabner Jager
His former team is Amiens not Angers but yeah I agree with you. I was already really interested about his performances in Ligue 2 last season. Would have loved to see my club signed him but it's too late now.
Player - Grabner Jager
Amiens*
Both teams recently promoted to Ligue 1. Both six letters. Both have white home kits. So you see the confusion lol
I can understand him moving to Antwerp. UCL team, fresh champions and cup winners, a young coach who puts lots of trust into young players...
Player - Grabner Jager
True, but big clubs have been eyeing him, I'm sure of it.
He was already very, very promising, made it to the 1st team at 16 with Angers. But I don't think big teams were ready to bite, because he didn't prove himself at pro level yet.
I think he's gonna get his full breakthrough next season. Janssen is very good, but Ilenikhena will explode given the chance to be the absolute starter.
Player - Soumaila Coulibaly
No way ur blaming the entire season on that when there were like 25 different moments we could've won it
Player - Arthur Vermeeren
From a recent interview:
"My next club has to be perfect. Everything has to be right. The first requirement is: I want to play. I don't necessarily want to go to the biggest and most beautiful club. I want to go to a club where people say: 'The next step for you is to play here as much as possible.' I definitely want a conversation with the coach beforehand. I want to know what he thinks about me and what his plans are. If that's a story that doesn't match how me and Dad see me, then it won't work."
Player - Raphael Onyedika
Damn blud got massacred
Team - Club Brugge KV
Some brutal downgrades here
Player - Michel Ange Balikwisha
Such a bargain for Frankfurt if we only didnt sell that early ....
Player - Aboubakary Koita
78 long shots is a joke, should unironically be something like 88 and should at least have the highest long shot stat in the league. also deserves an upgrade 74/79
Player - Arthur Vermeeren
New picture and 78/88 would be perfect imo.
Player - Arthur Vermeeren
100m AT LEAST
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
Nice win brothers. Very happy for you. Let's hope Union can do the same against Liverpool tonight.
Player - Bilal El Khannous
True but you got 2 types we need with Bilal & Ismael Saibari
Player - Bilal El Khannous
Could´ve been our KDB successor ffs
Player - Arthur Vermeeren
35-40M I think
Player - Arthur Vermeeren
All these new pictures and this poor boy must continue with this "thing" as a picture.
My condolences brother. Keep you in my prayers.
Player - Arthur Vermeeren
I don't get why we (Antwerp) never get pictures. This is the only one since 2017 ffs, and it's not even a good one, like wtf.
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
What a turn around, Ejuke is magical, the Keita and Vermeeren connection is too good, Ilenikhena with a good game and Janssen so important once again.
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
To go from 0-2 down to win 5-2 is insane.
I actually hope we'll play like that again, as we didn't give away a lot.
352 system was kinda nice imo.
Balikwisha was perfect as the RWB, while Ejuke was more a pure LW, with Coulibaly as a LCB often covering that LB position and having Alderweireld as the CB and van den Bosch as the RCB. Keita and Vermeeren are the best midfield partnership in the league, we just miss a playmaker with them, even tho Ekkelenkamp had a decent game, Janssen and Ilenikhena played off each other well as well.
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
At home we have 17/21 points which is very good, but away we have 7/24 points which is really bad. At home we have by far the best defense and away from home the goals we concede are by lackluster defending half of the time. At home we also scored twice as much in a game less, we create one of if not the most chances in the whole JPL at home.
Another fun fact, Bataille has only played 2 good away games of the 8, while at home he's played 5 good games out of the 7.
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
Butez, Bataille, Alderweireld, Coulibaly, Wijndal, Keita, Yusuf, Vermeeren, Balikwisha, Ejuke & Janssen hopefully to be the XI against Charleroi on Wednesday.
Player - Gift Emmanuel Orban
It's always weird seeing him with his name; a black man with the last name of a fascist Hungarian autocrat.
That being said, I'm sure he'll pick up form again. In hindsight it's easy to say Gent should have Andy Carroll'ed him last summer for 25+ mil (if they even had the chance to do so...)
He'll be gone for a good 15 mil next summer. Benfica, a bottom Prem team, Serie A 5th-7th placed teams, and LaLiga 4th-8th teams with European prize money are all teams that could be fitting destinations for him.
Player - Pierre Dwomoh
He's looked very decent for RWDM, looks like he finally has chosen football over whatever he was doing. His bad mentality needed a change, which we'll see in the long run if this is truly the case.
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
Sadly Udoh removed, wish Courtens would be in as well.
Team - Royal Antwerp FC
It was a good experience for yall regardless !

It's often a spectacle indeed but since Van Bommels arrival you've really turned into our black beast
