My two cents in the matter: I think I'm the only fan who's not overreacting. I don't feel sad, devastated, heartbroken or anything like that, though I'm not jumping off my seat either. I somewhat feel in acceptance. I'm not happy that he's leaving but I am happy for him that he decided to go out to enjoy life. It's been 9 years and he looks totally different from the guy that originally came here, he looks a lot more tired and I really thought he was leaving after last season ended, it's a miracle he decided to come back and that we're so good so quickly but he made it possible, we need to be thankful for that. Jurgen has been through a lot in this league, the thousands of interviews, controversies, VAR and the amount of pressure by external factors and every rival getting so strong so quickly must also play a part in always trying to maintain yourself in the top 1% bracket in expectations and delivery is not easy for a lot of people. He's been doing that for 9 years, it's understandable that he needs a break. I understand why he made the announcement right now, he's giving the fans a heads up so we can start grieving, theorizing about the future and eventually accept his departure with nothing more than appreciation for the upcoming months which will hopefully be trophy full. I am surprised that Lijnders wasn't named his immediate successor and that he's leaving as well. Given that FSG fought to bring him since the Rodgers era, you would think this was his chance but he probably wasn't ready for the pressure of being the guy to step in for Jurgen Klopp, it's not easy for anyone and he's probably not that guy still. It's a bit disrespectful to start theorizing about the next manager at this point but it's inevitable, I understand, but what is definitely disrespectful and unnecessary is to start saying "something happened behind closed doors". It's disrespectful to Klopp and FSG.
