Arguably the best tackler on the planet, incredible recovery speed (watch the City game), great instincts, phenomenal positioning, can carry the ball forward with ease and join attack, sprays the ball across the pitch, above average (not elite) in the air. Top 5 CB itw. People wonder why Argentina has had one of the best international runs out of any global team in the last 2-3 years — a lot of it has to do with having a stable backline for the first time in awhile. Argentina was always world-class going forward but shaky at the back. Not anymore. They’ll be a force in Qatar if their key players (Messi, Lautaro, Emi, De Paul, Romero) remain healthy.
