DDG can still be a top gk in a defensive team, I believe he can be great in serie a ,and he still saves us some points in specific games and he is a club legend ( my opinion and don't care what others say), but he doesn't suit the style of football we are trying to play, you could see it in games against Barca and arsenal that his distribution hurt us while we were trying to get out of the press or play from the back. Its easy to be a elite keeper in front of an elite defence but David De Gea was the entire defence for many seasons.

Alvaro I genuinely think competes with Malacia as more of an attacking fullback option. While Malacia inverts. As much as I agree that playtime is important, one crucial thing that’s come to light in Alvaro’s loan spell is his tactical nativity. If he has a future here, it could be that he sees more benefit from slightly less minutes, but the coaching and first team implementation under ETH to understand our sides tactics. I don’t think it’s ridiculous to lean on him for that level of depth, given that Shaw would still be the starting LB.
