He's still one of the best right backs in the world and receives a downgrade for playing well? Last season I'd have agreed with such a decision, but it's unjustifiable at this moment. I could only think of two or three right backs which are better, like Cancelo, Hakimi and Kimmich (if he's considered to be a right back). If there's ever been an overrated right back, it's definitely Alexander-Arnold, who can literally pass 80% of his attempts directly at his opponent or across the backline, give one decent cross and be the hero of the day for no good reason. At the very least, Carvajal knows how to defend and that's a skill the English lad has never even heard of.

I think people have a higher opinion of the Argentine League than it deserves at the moment. League is in financial difficulty and teams are willing to sell young talents on wherever possible. Most starters in the league are now veteran players. Players are now also more likely to be able to live a good life in US for couple years and move to Europe if deserved after.
