I didn't get to see the great SAF i began to love football in my early teens i remember the first game i watched was LVG Man Utd vs Norwich i think Rooney scored and Martial. I remember our route in the FA Cup that season and the final i didn't get to see us win i closed the game when we were one nill down and the famous Alan Pardew dance cause i had to go to my swimming training in my club. I returned and watched Carrick and Rooney lifting the trophy a picture i will never forget but still i was mad i didn't get to see the full game this was the first trophy i got to see us win and for 9 years 2 finals lost multiple exists in the most disappointing ways i always wanted to see us win the FA Cup again the experience that I didn't get fully when i was young and the picture that stuck in my head for 9 years i wanted to feel it fully i decided to watch the game today with the Manchester United supporters club in Egypt had an amazing time i had a very strong belief that we would win i don't know why i just believed and had one of the best experiences in my life i enjoyed everything about our win today finally watched us win the FA Cup the first trophy i saw since supporting this beautiful club.

Long post, care to ignore: Since Mourinho joined your club, I’ve been watching most games, even after his departure. The OGS appointment bemused me, however I have come to terms with the fact that he is no bum- he’s very astute. His 4231 has a very good balance structurally and very good pressing patterns. The personnel is not of the required standard but the foundations are there to compete for and win the PL and CL. A key feature of his system is the immense physical and mental toll required on the 2 pivot midfielders. They have to cover an insane amount of distance at a very high intensity each game to win second balls when the counter press of the front four fails. The no10 has to be the trigger for the press and needs to also have the energy to drop back into the midfield pockets to help recover the ball. This is why Pogba hasn’t played at the 10, with Lingard and Andreas being preferred (until the arrival of Bruno). Pogba lacks the intensity and mental aspect to do this, which is why he has been played in a pivot where his licence to roam in the final third is restricted. In fact, Pogba had essentially been playing as the Deepest lying midfielder. He can do this job (as he has ridiculous talent), but it’s not natural for him. Even in the first game against Chelsea, his lack of positional awareness and intensity, especially in the first half, was there for all to see. He doesn’t have the intensity OGS requires. Bruno is a better fit at 10 and Matic is a better fit as the DLP. A midfield of Pogba-Matic lacks the intensity to be successful consistently in the PL. Simply put, Pogba is a square peg in a round hole. His best position is the ‘left wing-fielder’, occupying the left sided half spaces and receiving the ball before making a turn, carrying the ball or making a line-splitting pass. Juve or Barca would be the best fit for him stylistically. Juve especially given as Sarri needs better than Matuidi and Rabiot in that role. Furthermore, Pogba and Bruno won’t function well together. Bruno roams all over the pitch like Pogba and will get in each other’s way. The same happened with Pogba and Alexis back in 2018 and with Keane and Veron back in the early 2000’s. If Sancho comes in (another BTL roamer), you’re gonna have an extremely unfunctional team. Balance is key. For these reasons, United should part ways with Pogba if OGS is to keep his job (I think he should) and reinvest in the likes of Sancho and Thomas Partey.

To people asking for a downgrade, remember that ratings are relative. Mahrez is, at 84, a borderline world class winger. You expect him to tear 66-rated Williams apart, and you'd be silly to be surprised when that happens. Or else, of course, you're just looking for a reason to unduly hate a United player because why wouldn't you.

United - Woodward - cycle: Hire a manager promising the club will back him in the market Do not back him in the market at all Keep the deadwood at the club renewing its contracts Watch the good players looking like shit because they can not carry an entire team on their own Wonder why good results are not coming Fire the manager Restart

I, for one, am looking forward to this season. Yes the squad may look thinner on paper but the starting XI has improved while more opportunities can be afforded to the youth players. Expect to see a lot more of Axel, Gomes, Greenwood. We look like we have a plan and a vision for once. We've brought in three players, with good personalities, who were our first choice. We haven't thrown money at quick fixes that will flop and want to leave. Same again next summer and we are building something I can get behind. And for those annoyed by not 'replacing' Lukaku; he was evidently not in Ole's plans and wanted a starting berth. Those minutes he would have got (from the bench or in Europa) can be split between Greenwood, etc. who can actually control a football and develop as a player. Definitely a step in the right direction.
