Who was the better player? At their peak for Liverpool it was Suarez no doubt Even Salah's recordbreaking season pales in comparison to *that* Suarez season. Like, compare their best seasons: All comps: Suarez (in a much worse team) - GP 37, GS 31, A 15, 46 goal contributions in 37 games or 1.25 goal contributions per game Salah - GP 52, GS 44, A 15, 59 goal contributions in 52 games or 1.12 goal contributions per game This isnt including the fact that Suarez was technically superior with the ball at his feet in almost every way measurable (dribbling, passing, crossing, shooting). But who was the better player overall in general? Also Suarez. He got EVEN BETTER at Barca. Undoubtedly the 3rd best player of the Messi/Ronaldo generation. Who was the better signing? Salah. More availability, here for longer, revolutionised his position, genuinely put liverpool back on the map and sustained our success, better PR (ie no biting or racism), better marketability. Salah will be a club legend (already is), but Suarez is borderline cult hero vs club legend - he wasn't here for long enough and had his scandals which don't sit well with a lot of fans

Joel wasn't just very good for a free signing he was a part of our success forming a good partnership with VVD and stepping up when required. It's unfortunate about the injury problems
avatar
Meady hattrick from Darwin but i wouldn't be complaining if he scored those goals for us, he quite literally never scores a simple tap in
avatar
Probably better for us they can come back and take part in full pre season for slot. Both will benefit from it since i wouldn't expect them to play at all for England

https://x.com/AnythingLFC_/status/1798628933770105028?t=pI230bmIpbni7uzIVXXeyQ&s=19 given the wording that is used here im assuming that hes not considered as a starter for slot and therefore we'll look to sign someone there. Thank god

He might be better in midfield long term. Bradley can take his position as rb i have faith in him

Klopp’s final post match dressing room speech: “I love you, that’s all I can say,” he told the squad as he stood in the middle of the dressing room. “The football you are able to play is absolutely ridiculous, I can’t wait. Watching you, developing, making the next steps, becoming third. “I don’t even know yet who became champion, City? The only one who’s stopped them is us and you can do that again. “I said it this morning, there might be some people who say ‘that’s not enough’, I tell you they don’t have a clue about football. “Could you have done better in moments? Yes. Of course, that’s always possible. But did you do better than you can usually expect? Oh yes! “Because it takes longer to become a top team again, and you did that (clicks fingers) like this. “That’s why expectations get [blown up], and then we couldn’t keep their pace. That’s the problem a little bit. “But besides that, becoming third in the first season of Liverpool 2.0, and from now on, with new energy from outside, for you, with new influences, with new boosts, with new [chances for] proving yourself, that’s good for squeezing everything out of your career. “So it’s already too much. “I want to say I love you, it was absolutely outstanding. Thank you for the ride, I’m so proud of you and I’m so proud that I have been allowed to be part of this. “Thank you very much, the sky is the limit for you boys. Thank you.” How can you not love this man! He deserved 3 PL titles and another CL but competing against an oil state club who have cheated and Real Madrid who seem to have officials their side every year is a near impossible task to achieve. But he got us back to the top and is leaving behind a great crop of boys for Slot.

Interesting self-awareness from an Arsenal fan.

Really feeling hopeful and optimistic about next season tbh, we've got good foundations to build from and have a good, solid squad that doesn't require any major fixing. Everything behind the scenes looks absolutely phenomenal, the structure FSG are building could be one of the best in Europe. Arne Slot, our new manager, is coming in with fresh ideas and an exciting brand of football and he has essentially been endorsed by Klopp. It's been a sad day today but we've got a bright future ahead of us.
avatar
Despiste the rivalry that was exclusive to the pitch, you are one of the best managers I've ever seen. May God bless your journey!!

I'm getting married in August. I met my soon to be wife in May 2015 and Jurgen joined Liverpool in October 2015. My life has changed massively for the better in those 9 years. He will always be a legend of this club and in our memories! Danke Jurgen
avatar
feel sorry for the real man city fans who have been there since before Abu Dhabi
avatar
I also love how for example in Germany players most of the time celebrate together with the fans whenever they are entering the pitch, however in this marketing and sportswashing tool of a league those overpaid pricks of players were storming straight off the field after the game

Klopp is such a class person and such an underrated manager. People don't appreciate him. It's actually quite funny since there will probably never be another manager in the recent times that will have such a good relationship with the fans. Always been a big fan of him. I ❤️ Klopp.

Well lads, that was it for Arne Slot at our club. Feel really bad, it’s a end of an era. Like I said earlier, you guys are really gonna have a world class coach. Time will prove it, never seen a better coach at Feyenoord then him.

It feels so weird, I am not as emotional as I thought I would be. I guess part of me is already at peace with it, and the other does not fully realize that this is truly the last time I see Jurgen on the pitch with us

Been wanting to write an essay on Klopp and this beautiful team for the last days, haven't been in the mood to do so, both because of the club and my personal life, but here I am. What a story this has been under Jurgen Klopp. When he arrived I wasn't even in the high school, so during these 9 years he meant a big part of my adolescence and has been a (virtual) ever present figure in my life (and for most of us as well I suppose). We were in trenches, finishing below Southampton in the league and exiting the group stages in UCL a season before. He came in and on the same day we started to believe we could regain our long gone glory, blindly embarking on this journey. Step by step, game by game, things became more clear we were in the right direction, although results (silverware) didn't arrive at that time. Not once, not twice, but many times (thinking about the Carabao final, UEL final, both in his first season, but also the UCL final in 2018) we had been close and thought there was a hill we could just not get over. Probably in any other club he would've been sacked after Kiev, but the board stood by him, awarded him an extension and moved on to achieve greater things. The clip with him singing with the fans about Madrid right after the final epitomizes him as a person, football and sports in general. A game that in the end has a winner and you just know there is another chance the next year and the next one and so on. Hard work eventually paid off, we got our hands on the UCL, the Super Cup, the CWC, the Premier League. Glory was achieved and his promise of delivering a title in 4 years has been kept, a man of his words. Although the next four years haven't been quite as successful as the previous ones (very alternating form, a bad year, a good year), we managed to complete the set and win the remaining trophies that he was missing. That quadruple-chasing season will forever be etched in by memory and my heart. Going all the way to the final day after we've been behind, all those performances, the NFT midfield, Salah-Mane-Diaz, the UCL nights, just to get our hearts shattered with 15 mins to go in the Prem and by an exceptional performance from Courtois. Life isn't always fair when you think we had a goalie that cost us the UCL in 2018 only to be defeated by the opposition counterpart's performance 4 years later. But once again we moved on and although the following season was below the standards, Klopp, just like Ferguson in 2012, refused to leave us in an unfavorable position. Been tough for him, Premier League is a very demanding league for both the players but also the managers. You rarely see someone staying for so long, and this obviously took its toll on his health (both physically and mentally). He deserves a very long break from this to recover. What will be hard to recover from is not being able to see him anymore on the touchline, in pressers, in training, not being able to see him manage the trio of Salah-Firmino-Mane, the hard-working Henderson, Wijnaldum, Milner, the super sub Origi, the overlapping fullbacks Trent and Robertson, the leaders of the defense Fabinho, Konate, Matip, Van Dijk, Alisson or the skillful players like Lallana, Coutinho, Thiago, Sturridge, Diaz, Elliott. Farewell, Jürgen Norbert Klopp. Been a pleasure to see you manage the club I love. I will not cry because it's over (I will), I will smile because it happened (I will). Looking forward to the future and may the next stage under the new manager be just as beautiful. The story is not over, we just move to the next chapter. You'll never walk alone.

I won't comment on Jurgen leaving as much; I think I could not even put it in the right words. But what I want to share right now is that seeing so many messages about Klopp, our feelings etc. made me realize the incredible sense of belonging I feel with this club. And Jurgen played a massive part in reminding us of that. The quote about turning from doubters to believers was not a mere cliche; he made it a reality. It feels crazy, 9 years is still more than one-third of my life, and I am happy it was in the era of Jurgen Klopp. So many things evolved in the meantime, some great, some bad; overall, I am very grateful on and off the pitch. The fact that some things could be even better makes it exciting and I am looking forward to the future

City winning the league is like a hooker having sex, no one care, plastic 115 charges club Glad Arsenal won't, their fans would be unbearable if they win it
avatar
No secret that I wanted him last summer. Last year of his contract next season, signed up with new agents and wanted to move last season. It's a perfect gamble for that price. I know there's some that'll say he's not a pure CDM and that we should sign someone like Ugarte or Palhinha instead, however we've got Slot coming in who made Mats Wieffer into a "Slot" CDM and the key aspects of that role involve good technical skills to create from deep, a big physical frame and the ability to cover a decent amount of ground. Add that to what is a good personality and I think he'd be be a great addition.

I like how Macca commented on his mistake on instagram. It was a silly mistake but exactly this reaction assures me that he is a leader who does not hide away from it, takes personal responsibility and improves himself. He had a phenomenal season and finally is a player that even exceeded expectations and made the price tag an absolute bargain.

Real winning the UCL despite being the worst team on the pitch every knockout games they played , Liverpool and Arsenal starting the season strong to bottle the league to City in the last instant , Kane finishing trophy less the more things change the more things will ever stay the same right ?

Leipzig and Bayern got robbed...
avatar
I was biased towards Real this game but for the linesman to raise the flag just as the Ball is on the way to De Light is a disasterclass. No way he knew it was clear offside and looking at the videos it cleary wasn't offside. What a joke
avatar
Not deserved tbh. Bayerns last goal was clean
avatar
Canadian Madrid fan pretends they're not a plastic fan challenge - impossible
avatar
That was suspicious from the linesman raised his flag too soon
avatar
Unbelievable decision from the linesman right there, why the hell would you call offside in such a close situation… Scandalous decision in favor of real, as per usual.
avatar
Now I understand how Liverpool fans feel...
avatar
We need Dortmund to save football, can’t let Vadrid win again
avatar
Lol, how can a ref in 2024 gives a offside in a play like that?
avatar
The linesman giving offside like that is crazy. Couldn’t even let var review the goal

This page is turning toxic. Constantly blasting whichever player is the flavour of the month to pick on. First it was Endo then Gakpo now either Diaz or Nunez. Football is a team sport and the team has been failing not just from individual mistakes. They've all had bad games/form. The season is almost done and people should be focusing on the time we have left with Klopp but instead are slamming the players.

Clean sheets are a endangered species in Liverpool

Dear Darwin, when you are through on goal with loads of space and the goalkeeper comes out, please go around the goalkeeper and tap it in.

https://x.com/Squawka_Live/status/1787160704887206108 Special talent. Over the course of the season, Harvey has been levels better than Dom consistency-wise. Insanely mature. Could see him starting next season under Slot.
