Anyone see haaland throw the ball at gabriels head after the last goal😂😂😂
avatar
I'm just stating a fact? Sorry, is that not convenient to you? Looks like it got you good there, so you have to bring up trophy as typical Arsenal defence mechanism against Spurs, it is kinda boring really. Now now don't cry about it, there are more to life than football, do some Yoga or something 😂
avatar
Still we didn't shoot, that was the main problem. If we played like Brentford game on Arsenal back then, then we had good chance to score.
avatar
Ange managed a 10/10 and slightly tweaked his tactics to allow Son to channel runs inside and Madders to roam out wide. Son is still out of form but managed 2 assists. Madders was MOTM. Bentancur close 2nd. Brennan had a £50M finish he created himself, probably his best since joining ngl. Kulusevski still edges everyone for our best player this season. Players slipped up 23 seconds in the match but defended well rest of the game. Vicario had too many dodgy moments but had a few great saves.
avatar
Much better than previous matches. More intensity upfront, more drive and all. Still need some work, especially on defensive mistakes. Overall, a great result to kickstart us back in form. Madders has been immense, too much hate for him recently. I'm glad Johnson and Solanke scored, shut some haters down. Good result now needs to focus on Europa next, get optimal result as much as we can so we can get fewer games.
avatar
He deserved that he’s been fantastic today
avatar
Much better, more intense upfront, more shooting, players have more urgency, and faster build up. However, the players need to be careful making mistakes and wasted their stamina. We need to score more while we have the chance. Brentford might push back 2nd half with high press.
avatar
solanke, son, johnson, maddison, and kulu are all pressing crazily. and we got two 10/8 in mid - madddison and kulu. plus udogie is mixing overlapping a bit. kind of man city almost. odd and proud to see spurs like this w/o the money luxury
avatar
Unless Ange suddenly change his tactic in this game out of nowhere. I predict we got conceded first, then we will die trying to score one against them in 2nd half.
avatar
Nigga is so good he ended Barca Madrid rivalry The Martin Luther King of football
avatar
Watching Arsenal I'm just thinking how we lost to that boring wank team? Doing homework is more entertaining than watching them.
avatar
Assna, forever a joke in Europe, you love to see it
avatar
Gyokeres is genuinely insane btw I’ve watched every sporting game this season. Hope 65M for Solanke works out in the end after he gets time to adapt but man…
avatar
We should give some respects to Forster and Davies, without them we'd get fucked already
avatar
This Kulusevski redemption arc >> Fans have slated him all the way back to dealing with Emerson overlaps to Ange sticking him out wide
avatar
Kulusevski is our current best player. Djed spence played with heart. Johnson deserved that for the abuse. A needed win yet a very awful performance. Another two injuries gained in odobert and werner. Honestly happy to see mikey moore might get a chance.
avatar
Spence and Johnson needed that, hope this is a confidence boost for them. Spence actually trying more than Udogie right now.
avatar
We won but fucking hell they need to wake the hell up. Spence and Kulu changed the game for sure happy for em. And so so happy for Johnson getting that goal to shut up them jarring fans. Need to step up, wake up and be ruthless
avatar
He is so good carrying our attacks, more direct and effective than Madders even.
avatar
Let's hope this "B team" isn't going to be our Fulham game last season in Carabao. Let's hope not only the line-up, but the tactic also changes as well.
avatar
Impossible to say by the lineup, it's just our second line, the tactic should change not the players. Let's see if we play directly or we just pass around hoping that someway the ball gets into the net.
avatar
Just looked up our xG/shots stat. Looks like this is our main problem. 0.1 is the stat, equal to Nottingham and only above Ipswich. Although, Nottingham have had a great start to the season. I also looked up the other teams in the top 5 leagues that have the same number of xG/shots as us. Rennes, Reims, Napoli, and Nottingham are the teams that have had a good start to the season. With their points ranging from 6-9 points from 4 games. The other teams (including us), have points ranging from 0-4. The reason why those 4 are performing well (besides Nottingham) is that they are overperforming their xG. Making up for the fact that they don't create high quality chances. Nottingham for some reason are still playing well even though they create low quality chances, and are underperforming xG. I've noticed that all of these teams aren't possession-based teams. Napoli have the most possession amongst these teams with only 52% Fiorentina is the most similar team to us. They play possession football (although not as high possession as us, create a lot of shots, but have a low xG/shot and are underperforming their xG. There is also Las Palmas. They play with high possession, but they create a low amount of shots as well. So, they are in a worse position. So based off this, Ange's tactics is is causing the team to create a lot of low quality shots. Maybe things could be different if we have better finishing, but our underperformance in xG could very well be due to the tactics.
avatar
Transfers aint easy and there is no general rule especially when lets be honest we haven't won a trophy for sometime and we aint playing in the champions league. Plus a transfer fee isnt always a guarantee for success and sometimes even puts pressure on players. I think we are just trying to find our balance while having to deal the need of signing homegrown players. I think we got alot of transfers right in the last 2-3 years and its a good mix of high priced transfers and scouted talents. I think our main issue lies with the so called team leaders. Son maddison and romero they are simply not consistent enough. In a game like yesterday they should be the most effective yet they dont show up. Kane used to turn up in such games. We need a marquee signing and a player with character
avatar
Looking at passes x goals ratio, we need 379 passes to score a goal, from top teams only United is worse with 422. Our stats (passes per shots, passes per shots in the net, passes per goal) are similar to Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Brighton and United. BUT if we look at passes / big chances created we are the worst of all, similar to Brighton but way behind any top team. Taking away City which has a player which guarantees starting from 1-0, Noone of the other teams is top 5 except Liverpool which has the best defence in the league. Now we could say that Son, Solanke, Richarlison, Maddison, Kulusevski, etc magically forgot how to score or that maybe this tactic takes too much time and passes to being the ball to the attackers. The only way to make this tactic doable is to have a incredibly solid defence, with set pieces as well.
avatar
Looking again the replay, if Romero went down there, the goal would have been disqualified as a foul. He should have fallen down. Gabriel had enough push with his both of his hands to qualify as a foul and clear as day. The fact Romero was not falling down makes it look like a fair challenge.
avatar
I think we were way too slow building up in Arsenal game while we have the control and upper hand. When we moved faster on the building up, Arsenal were all over the place. If we want to back down Arsenal playing that C shape passes then we should open up some space to shooting long range, the fact we are trying to push inside the box and trying to force a low cross already a huge mistake. Ange definitely has to look our players' movement off the ball, we are too static to create a space. Looks like we stuck with plan A and don't have anything else B or even C. This is why Ange has to adapt and learn, I hope he sorts this out, it is very fixable.
avatar
They did that with haaland as well of all people, so harsh to go at solanke who’s having his debut
avatar
It is very naive to think a set piece coach wouldn't fix our problem on set piece defending and attacking. It won't entirely diminish every single goal conceded but at very least it will minimize it and we will have better chance to score from it as well. Just look at Arsenal's set piece especially corner they were playing from far post to the centre a couple of times and they switched it up when it didn't work, to crowd the centre and it worked very well for them. Set piece need a tactic, practice and coordination, you won't automatically score just by punting the ball inside the box and hoping for the best. If we can't score from open play at least we can get a chance on the set piece like Arsenal did. That's how you won the game despite the odds are against you.
avatar
Neither has Saka, Saliba or Rice except bottling the title and winning same amount of trophies as Spurs. Calm down little bro
avatar
Nah mate let’s bomb forward with Udogie who has no attacking prowess & hope Porro scores more headers and long shots
avatar
The fact, I'm more livid about the way we play more than the match loss itself.

avatar
Ange needs to show some adaptability just been out-transitioned by a team that sucks on the transition. he needs to find more to Spurs’ game, though I don’t think you have the players for it currently
avatar
At their best, Spurs are a fun side to watch, but there’s no chance you make top 6 at this rate. I like Ange, but you will be exposed quickly in the Prem if you can’t adapt and evolve. The best managers are always tweaking tactics season by season, game by game, to optimize results. Spurs play the same exact way every match.

Can say the same about anything really "We got San Marino winning a match before Arsenal winning their very first UCL/Europa trophy" "We got San Marino winning a match before Barça can finally pay de Jong his wages fully" "We got San Marino winning a match before GTA 6 released"

audi cup+tiger cup double, u can't beat that
avatar
Think it’s the high line tbh mate
avatar
It's not his fault where he was born, it's completely understandable that in a war he would be on the side of his family and friends. I also don't like that he posts shit opinions on Instagram, but I understand that he is on the side of his people. injury prone and short are not enough reasons to hate him, if that were the case Maddison should be hated too. And Solomon was quite good in the few games he was available.
avatar
Yeah, I mean we still need a DM though just in case Biss doesn't work out well. Just adding more option on the scouting list.
avatar
Samuele Ricci has been taken? Seems like an interesting player for 6/8 role.
avatar
We have 3 CB but we also have Davies and Gray, both can play at CB
avatar
Ok, I'm not saying Ange's tactics are bad here, but i think we might want to expirument with a box midfield in a 4-2-2-2 formation Here's how It'd look Vic Pedro porro romero/draguin vdv udogie Bentancur Biss Kulu Madders Richarlison Son I think this could really work tbh, and don't worry about the midfielders because thankfully all of our wingers have played centrally before, U'd possibly have a bench consisting of Solanke Bergvall, spence, gray, sarr, romero/dragusin, forster johnson, werner I think this could really help our structure, however the one downside is on the flanks we don't have much cover, but i think we can deal with that, especially since our fullbacks won't need to invert anymore
avatar
By year 3 he will turn into a cult hero. Emerson Royal is an acquired taste.

I am stuck in an apprenticeship meeting and I am very bored so here is my best Spurs 11 since 2010 (433) GK - Lloris (arguably the best keeper in our history, older generations will say Pat Jennings but I have never seen anything of him. Lloris had a rough end to his Spurs career but taking away his last full season, he was quality. 2015-2018 was probs his prime and for pretty much his whole spurs career, he was defo top 5 keepers in teh prem during his time) LB - Rose (Prime Rose is massively underrated, Poch made him top 2 LB in the league from 2014/16 to 16/17 until he got injured in 17/18. Assou Ekotto was good for us but Rose has defo been our best LB since 2010, also that stunning volley vs Arsenal will stay with me forever) CB - Vertonghen and Alderweireld (probs the best CB duo in the league for 15/16 and 16/17 and both were just so good, 2 of the very best CB in the league and the world. Vertonghen has more of a Spurs legacy but prime Toby is better than prime Jan in my opinion. Both absolutely amazing for us. They got let down from 17/18 onwards coz of Aurier being an absolute doughnut and just being a massive liability and also from Rose not being able to recover from the injury but Jan and Toby were elite. Toby had that injured 17/18 season but the next season he came back and absolutely proved he was still at the top of his game and Jan vs Dortmund at LWB during 18/19 was a true leaders performance as well.) RB - Kyle Walker (there ain't much competition here but Walker was the best RB in the league while he was with us for a couple years before he left for City, when he left us that is when the goals started leaking in the following years) This defence for the 2 years they all played together during 15/16 and 16/17 also conceded the least amount of goals in the league during both seasons CM - Modric/Dembele/Eriksen (Modric was absolutely quality for us, obvs his prime and best years in his career were at Madrid but his time at Spurs is massively underrated, he was our player of the year in 2011 and that trio of Modric/Scott Parker/Van Der Vaart was elite and incredibly well balanced and quite underrated during 11/12. Modric was just a magician for us and he made everything tick. The following season when he wanted to leave and AVB sold him you could tell we were really missing him. ) (Dembele I would say was our most important midfielder, no matter who he played next to in the pivot, he carried that midfield, he may have lacked a bit of work ethic and injuries didn't help but he did everything and he did it with a real subtlety about it as well. It is very rare to see a player who was so strong and so aggressive be so insanely comfortable and tricky on the ball. Him and Wanyama during 16/17 were the best double pivot I saw under Poch and probs the best midfield duo we have had by far since 2010) (Eriksen is probs our most underrated player across the Poch era, with Alli being the young star and the likes of KDB consistently being the best midfielder in the league as well, Eriksen was our creative spark while being surrounded by monsters such as Wanyama, Alli and Dembele (although Moussa was a magician/destroyer hybrid) He was our creator and he was consistently one of the very best in the league throughout his whole Spurs career apart from 19/20. He is another player alongside Dembele that we couldn't replace, we lacked creativity in the pitch for about 3 or 4 seasons after he left until now when Madders has come in) HM: Van Der Vaart, Alli (Also HM to Dier, has 3 great seasons for us before he lost all athleticism and sort of fell off, incredibly loyal and always did his best. 15/16 to 17/18 Dier at CDM and CB was quality) LW - Son (Arguably the most clinical player in prem history and a player who has always stepped up when the players around him have been injured or out of the squad. 18/19 UCL him and Lucas won us matches while Kane was injured and to consistently put up 10+ goals a season for about 7 or 8 years now flies under the radar. He is close to the top 20 all time top scorers in prem history. So many iconic goals, moments and he is still quite underrated considering how people rate him in prem lists/rankings. My second fav player of all time and I think when he leaves, it will genuinely break me) RW - Bale (From 2010 1 Prem POTS, 1 Young prem POTS, 2 PFA POTS, 1 PFA Young POTS, no matter where he played once he got moved out of LB, whether he played LW, RW, CAM, ST. He consistently contributed something, even once the players around him left such as Modric and Van Der Vaart, he carried us in that 12/13 season after already having having 2 or 3 good seasons for us. My fav player of all time and everyone know what he did after he left, he went on to become not just one of Spurs greatest players but also one of footballs greatest players, also his time back on loan in 20/21 is mad as well. In the prem he has 20 games, 10 starts and got 10 goals and maybe 1 or 2 assists as well) ST - Kane (Probs our best player, in a time when we had 0 reliable strikers from Soldado and Adebayor doing fuck all, Kane a player who Levy was tryna sell to the championship starts bagging a few goals in 13/14 and in 14/15 he really made his mark, called a 1 season wonder but then he goes on to do it for 7 or 8 more seasons in the prem and is still doing it now for Bayern. His skillset has also massively increased, went from a young pressing striker who would poach to start banging long shots, dropping deep, providing link up play while we had no creative spark after Eriksen left whilst still putting up stupid numbers. So many individual accolades and I truly hope whatever curse was put on him gets lifted so he can finally wins something) This front 3 also have a mad range of shooting, long shots, power shots, finesse and Kane and Bale are also somewhat of aerial threats If Bale wasn't injured on and off during 20/21 I think we would have seen some incredibly stupid numbers be put up by him especially with Kane dropping deep creating. These 3 in 20/21 put up 50 goals and 26 assists combined in the prem alone while Bale was on and off injured and Kane also missed like 2 or 3 matches Who else would you guys put in or do you think deserves an Honourable Mention

Good analysis
avatar
Romero is the main culprit for too much ball watching this season. Seems like he’s overly invested in playing on-ball and pressing spaces rather than fundamental defending. Ange needs to rein him in. The high line 2-1-7 ball exposes our fullbacks too much. Porro and Udogie are good at recovery but we can’t keep relying on last ditch defending in second halves after bombing forward all game. Again Ange has to adapt strategy to help players limitations when key squad members are out
avatar
The tactics leave us exposed, but we already knew that. That’s why we have to finish chances when we get them. What I don’t understand is how they’re people calling for Ange to leave on twitter. People are insane. As if the man hasn’t just got Levy to break the bank on a striker that’s just out this week with an injury. I don’t care about the trolls man, we have thirty five more match days in the season.
avatar
Solanke is supposed to be that guy. Good thing the injury isn't long term and he should be back for the Arsenal game.
avatar
We overplayed yet again with the short passing game, it gives time for Newcastle to regroup. We are missing strikers but doesn't mean we can't finish. Multiple times, Newcastle made mistakes, but we can't convert even once, we made a mistake, get punished. Some fans blaming Ange needs a knock on the head, he literally gave the players football to play, finishing is shit is all on the players. You can even see Ange angry when the players overplayed their passing sideways, especially.
avatar
Yeah true, kinda wish Ange would play it safe after scoring though.
avatar
With Newcastle, we can't play like that. Once we conceded we are forced to advance higher, which means Newcastle can capitalize on our mistakes, play between spaces and one quick counter we are done for. That's what happened to us last season when we conceded 4 goals pretty easily against them. Looking at their last game against Nottingham in EFL Cup, they didn't look sharp, overall Nottingham way more dominant. If we can get an early goal, then we can play it safe and play counter-attack against them.

Such mixed feelings about our midfield. The advanced 8/10 is sorted, with Madders, Kulu & Bergvall. But the two 6/8 hybrid/double-pivot positions feel quite...inexperienced/light. Biss, Bentancur, Sarr, Gray. After that we're literally into the academy. I'm 100% in favour of giving Bergvall/Gray minutes, but with 4 competitions and aspirations this season, can't help thinking another senior 6/8 player would make things feel a little more secure. And now it sounds like a midfielder isn't the priority...
avatar
Started watching soccer in 2012 because I liked Ibrahimovic on FIFA 12. Fell in love with AC Milan but couldn’t support after he left for PSG. Switched clubs to Tottenham right as they sold Bale. After realizing Levy bought dross in Soldado & Paulinho, I decided to support Arsenal seeing Ozil rack up 15 assists by Dec. We finished 5th in 2017 and I couldn’t take the Arsenal “4th” banter so decided Spurs was truly home bcoz Harry Kane was just too good.. then Levy bought Sissoko on deadline day, didn’t back our manager for 3 windows, and fired Poch which led me to Inter Milan since I had no interest w/ Kane trying to force his way to City and Levy hiring a Wolves manager. Inter went bankrupt with the new Chinese owners and I finally made my decision to stay a lifelong Spurs supporter under Conte
