Summary:
I think this is the most realistic side Erik ten Hag should go for. Utilizing free agents and players out, trying to keep expenditure as low as possible. I would sign another poacher ST, but giving Wheatley the chance to prove himself and save money. McTominay used as a super sub when we need a goal or to defend with his height. If you want 3 CDMs, bring in Ndidi on a free.
Ins: £243m
- Amadou Onana (£60m) - Prem proven class CDM. Has a bright future and he could be the one for many years at United. Can blend into the team with Rodriguez rotating for the first few seasons then sign a backup for him.
- Michael Olise (£65m) - A non selfish winger? Olise certainly could be the one to give Hojlund the service he needs. Prem proven but injury worries mean we're keeping Diallo.
- Antonio Silva (£69m) - 100m euro release clause but Benfica open to negotiate. More with addons. They could do us a nice deal since we're giving them Alvaro Fernandez for mega cheap... This guy could be our Ruben Dias, our van Dijk.. our captain & leader in the future.
- Jean-Clair Todibo (£32m) - An easy transfer as Ratcliffe already owns Nice. Don't know if he's ready to be a main CB, but can certainly play cup games and come in for any injuries. Great price for a 24 year old.
- Patrick Dorgu (£17m) - looks like a great talent. Want to give Shaw the benefit of the doubt and hope he comes back to full fitness, then Dorgu can blend into the team with cup games and if/when Shaw gets inevitably injured. Harry Amass can rival him in the future.
- Adrien Rabiot (free) - can play as an 8 or hybrid 6/8 when needed. Will give Mainoo a chance to rest or offer an alternative off the bench later on.
- Guido Rodriguez (free) - World Cup winner. Considering how toasted we've been with injuries this season, I think we need to bring 2 6's. Who says no if hes free?
We can continue brining through Youth Players, especially wingers. We need to put pressure on Rashford to perform whilst making sure we have cover for Olise if his injuries become a problem. I can't wait till EA Add the current U18's.
Outs: £257m
- Raphael Varane (free)
- Harry Maguire (£30m)
- Victor Lindelof (£15m)
- Antony (£38m)
- Christian Eriksen (£10m)
- Anthony Martial (free)
- Casemiro (£40m)
- Tom Heaton (Free)
- Mason Greenwood (£20m)
- Jadon Sancho (£40m)
- Tyrell Malacia (£20m)
- Donny van de Beek (£8m)
- Sofyan Amrabat (end of loan)
- Facundo Pellistri (£15m)
- Alvaro Fernandez (£6m)
- Brandon Williams (Free)
- Hannibal (£15m)
Reloan Bennet, Fish, Hugill and Onyedele. Loan out any other youngsters you see fit or youth players.
Future options:
In future seasons, explore a the idea of a new keeper, along with a Bruno Fernandes replacement.
