FC Yeu, est. 1994 in ile d yeu as a gathering of fishermen, local farmers, and lighthouse workers, hence the lighthouse as the club's logo. Relocated to the mainland, the closest big city being Nantes, and became an official team. Through smart youth development and a moneyball approach quickly rose the ranks to league football, becoming famous for their environmental principles (e.g., kits made from fully recyclable material, beach cleaning, sea-life conservation). Home kit is white and black, typically in a 50:50 split. Away and third kits have been pink, light blue, and black/stone, proving very popular in the streetwear world. Stadium is famous for having some of the best food in football and proximity to the sea. Club rose to prominence/success with Stel Tov as manager, an Estonian famous for his easy-going and stoic demeanor, unconventional team activities (e.g., free-diving), and balanced and often ruthless style of football. Youth players are mainly French, with other countries of interest including Estonia, Finland, Canada, Peru, Ecuador, South Africa, Australian, South Korea, and Japan, with the belief both that these countries are 'hidden' talent pools (some a lot more-so than others) and that they represent an unfulfilled commercial market. Finding their footing as the most dominant team in an increasingly turbulent ligue un, with Marsielle beating PSG to the 2023/24 title a huge turning point in the french footballing landscape. Local rivals are Nantes, but Saint Etienne have proven the bogey team. PSG remain the favourite team to beat.

Stel Tov's asymmetrical 4-2-2-2

CF may drop deep or get in behind, freeing up space for classic in the box lurker ST.
Classic winger on the left to exploit the space left by CF. LB may overlap or cut in and drive.
Winger/CAM hybrid on right, may float in 2/3 boundary or cut to flank or middle. RB more defensive due to unpredictability, but may push into any space created/if attention diverted.
CM acts as regista, long balls to wings or to 2 upfront (in-behind or hold-up). Links up with CDM, full-backs, and wingers (more so winger/CAM hybrid).
CDM covers where needed, doesn't become third defender, rather the peak of a defensive triangle.
Goalkeeper aggressive with collections but conventional for saves, generally stays in his goal and lets CBs apply pressure.

Overall a fast-paced, penetrative style of play. Not particularly possession-based, more focused on forward thinking attack of space, overloads, risk-taking, and unpredictability. Cloud overloads.
